Breast Reduction & Lift

General Information About

The goal of cosmetic procedures addressing congenital or developmental breast problems, which are an important element of a woman’s physical structure, is to achieve a symmetrical, natural, and permanent cosmetic result without compromising breast functions (nipple sensation, lactation).

Who is suitable for this procedure?

Large and sagging breasts can negatively impact quality of life due to their appearance and weight. Back and waist pain due to poor posture, breastfeeding difficulties, bra strap marks on the shoulders, limitations in sports and similar activities, and psychological problems are common.

How is the surgery performed?

The appropriate technique is selected considering the patient’s age, general condition, and the structure of the breasts and chest wall. The surgery takes 3-4 hours under general anesthesia.

Are nipple sensation and lactation affected?

In mild to moderate breast enlargement, nipple sensation and lactation are preserved (90%).

Will there be scars?

While the cosmetic results are always satisfactory, scars that extend vertically around and below the areola, sometimes crossing it horizontally (inverted T), are inevitable.

Lift

This surgery is performed in cases where sagging breasts are a problem, preserving the breast tissue. It takes 2-3 hours. Scars similar to those from a reduction surgery may remain. Nipple sensation and breastfeeding are generally unaffected.

What should be considered after the surgery?

You will emerge from the surgery with bandages covering your breasts and spend the first night in the hospital. Drains are placed in a dressing and will naturally fall out with the first dressing on the 2-3rd day. A sports bra is worn for 2 months, and strenuous exercise is avoided during this time.

What are the complications?

In addition to the potential complications of any surgery, wound healing problems can occur in the early stages, especially in smokers.
